I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of their weekend! We had a fun filled week continuing to build stamina in our reading time,  starting our math rotations and stations, and learning how to use our technology this week!

Next week students will begin to practice their handwriting skills, we will continue to  practice our letters, reading and writing, and we will begin our community helpers unit. I would love to end our community helpers unit by learning about those in the medical field.  If you have any dramatic play toys, costumes,  stethoscopes ect, and would be willing to let our class barrow it for the day I would so appreciate it!

I apologize that I did not send how the bible verse today, but here is a copy and I will send the paper copy home on Monday!

Notes-

*The next couple weeks we will be learning about community helpers. If you would like to come and talk about your career I would love to have you! Especially any nurses, doctors, police men, construction workers, farmers, and fire fighters!

*I know students bring their own snacks for the afternoon, but the students have been getting so hungry in the morning that I have been giving out community snacks. If you would like to donate to this I would appreciate it. We are almost out.

*Continue to work on Sight words nightly, and everyone should be moved to list 2 by Friday. If you have concerns please let me know, as all students work at their own pace.

We have made it through our first full week of school! It was great seeing everyone at curriculum night! If you were unable to make it I sent home the take home papers in your child's folder. Our first home work came home today. Please practice the Bible verse and sight words nightly, and of course read with your child every night. The best way to become a better reader is to read!=) For our sight word lists, they will be individually paced. So if your child knows these words you can sign the list and send it back Monday and I will test them and send a new list. Our goal is to at least finish one list every 2 weeks.

If you have not bring ear buds please do so in the next few weeks.

Library books are due back Wednesday.

If you need more payback books to sell you can ask Mrs. Warner. The winning class gets a pizza party!

Happy Friday!  In this first week of school I am really getting to know all the kiddos and their cute personalities!  Each class always has a different feel to it and I think this class will be a happy energetic class.  I am truly looking forward to our year together! 

This week we have spent a lot of time learning rules,  practicing how we do things and use our materials,  and of course getting to know each other! 

Next week we will spend more time practicing what our reading time week look like, new math games,  and we will start our Bible and hand writing curriculum.

Reminder that next Tuesday is our curriculum night.  I would love to share what we will be learning this year, inform you about the field trips we will be taking,  discuss our homework,  and any other questions you may have.  I will also get you signed up for our remind app that we use to get out all of our important information.  Here are a few pics from our week.

Wow, I am having a hard time believing it is the end of the year! We have had an amazing year together. All of your children are so wonderful and sweet. It really has been a great class. They have made lots of friends this year! I am sad to see some go, and excited for the students who are returning! The other classes are putting out a parent summer contact list for birthday’s, parties, play-dates ect… I will send out a remind for those and you can reply if you would like to be on the list.

This summer we will be having our summer camp. It is for students entering K up to 3^rd grade. Our theme this year is in the garden. Students will be learning but still be having fun. We tell them it is different than school! Students will have a garden to take care of, we will be growing plants in the class, and learning about different part of plants. Through this though, they will also be reading, doing math, learning letters, and numbers, and practicing writing. I highly encourage you to sign your child up, they will have small class sizes with lots of one on one attention.

Next year’s parents, school supply lists are out and at the front desk if you would like to pick one up.
