11/3

Happy Friday! This week has been fun and interesting with Halloween right in the middle of the week. I can definitely see higher energy in the kids. Hopefully next week will be calmer;) Pictures do much more justice in showing our fun week! So check out below=)

Our church participates in the Christmas Shoe box program each year. I love this program. You fill a shoe box with different items for children all over the world. Children who participate have the chance to give back. I personally do this with my own children, and I would like to do this with my class as well. To fill a shoe box, we will have a field trip to the dollar store where each child can pick one item to put into the box. I am personally giving each child a dollar to buy a gift, if you would also like to donate some money for kids to pick a gift that would be great but definitely not required! Our trip to the dollar store is tentatively on Tuesday 11/14. Please let me know if you would like to join us!

Notes:

-If you are able to make it to our "morning cafe" tomorrow, please message me to let me know.

-Keep bringing in those box tops! I'm hoping our class will win this year=)

-Our art class begins Nov. 17th! I highly recommend signing up for this after school program. My son does it and loves it! This does cost money. If you would like your child to participate check your child's folder for the form.

10/27/2017

Happy Friday! We had a fun week in kindergarten! We finished up our unit on Community and we began learning about bats! We have also been integrating more technology into our day.  The students have been doing great!

In Bible we learned about how God can give us inward strength.  We also focused on how slow obedience is the same as no obedience and how to have cheerful obedience!  This is one of my favorite ones to teach because after the students are so sweet about saying "Okay Mrs. Lee" whenever I ask them to do anything.  We even role played how to have cheerful obedience wgen our parents say it's bed time or when they ask us to brush our teeth. I hope you see some of this at home:)

Reading-
Next week in reading we will have our first unit test!  This will come home on Friday. We are also working on sequence of events.  So as you read with your child an idea is to talk about what happened first,  next and last.

Math-
We are finishing our ch. 2 test Tues on #s to 10. Our last 2 lessons are tricky as they have to count ordinal (first, second, third, ect). I told students if they turn their homework in Monday they will get a prize from me:)

Writing -
I have been introducing more writing words to match our pictures. Keep practicing those letters and sight words at home,  this will help them a lot as they begin to write:)

Bible-
Story- young Samuel
Lesson- we can serve others
Fruit of the spirit- patience and joy.
