2/27/16

Wow, February has just flown by, and next week we are in to March! I am excited about the wonderful weather and being able to get outdoors more with the kiddos though!

Thank you so much to everyone for trying their best to be on time last week! We know it’s not easy, so thank you. All the students received an extra recess. Now we will start working towards that movie day when we have zero tardies.

There is lots of fun going on the next couple weeks!

Read Across America
Friday we sent home a note and reading log for next week. Our goal is to read 15,000 minutes school wide. If we reach our goal each child who has their reading log will get to stick a piece of tape to Mrs. Warner and stick her to the wall, hehe. Fun motivation for the students. Mrs. Warner is a wonderful sport and great principal!

Oh, and we can’t forget we will get to show some spirit by dressing up next week!
Monday- Red and White day
Tuesday- Silly socks
Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday
Thursday- Green egg and ham (we will be eating it=o)
Friday- Dress as your favorite book character

If your child has a Dr. Seuss book they would like to share and read to the class have them bring it and we will do read aloud times next week, as well as a ton of fun activities!

Class Chapel
Our class chapel is this coming Monday. We practiced in class all week, and I know parents have been practicing at home too. Keep practicing this weekend when you have a chance, I know some kiddos were having a hard time remembering their parts. We would love for parents to come join us for this special Chapel! It will be from 10:00-10:30.

Field Trip
We have a fun field trip coming up to the Children’s Museum on Tuesday, March 8th.

Conferences
Conference will be held on Friday, March 25th, which is also a no school day. I will send out sheets next week for you to reserve a spot. I know many parents work so you can also email me if there is a certain time you want to make sure to get, or if you need another day. I can’t wait to share all the hard work your kiddos have been doing! They are amazing!

Missions Month
We will be celebrating missions month in a couple weeks. If you know any missionaries, or you have done a trip yourself, and would like to come to our class and share with us, let me know. We can even skype! We would love to hear about their experience!

Wow I hope I got everything in there! Sorry for the lack of pictures this week! Next week I am sure we will have a lot! Have a great weekend!

2/19/2016

Dear Parents,
Last week was amazing!!  Our classroom celebrated both the 100th day of school and Valentine's Day last Friday on Feb. 12th.  It was exciting to see how creative our students were with their 100 day project. I loved seeing each child present to the class what items they brought to share.  Some highlights were 100 Legos in the shape of 100,  a dinosaur diorama, a beaded box, glued Cheerios in the shape of a heart and the number 100.  Thanks for helping your child with their projects, they really did fantastic!!

Our Art project last week was," what will I look like when I am 100 years old?"  We did this with Mrs. Bates class.  Our pictures are in the hall.  Each one is hilarious and yet completely unique to each student.  Check it out!

Reminders for next week:

Please remember to be on-time all next week.  Students who are not tardy will earn an extra recess with Mrs. Warner.  Last week, many of you were right on time and it was nice to start our class without interruptions!

Monday, Feb. 29th is our class chapel.  Your child will be performing a skit up front.  We will be practicing each day during Bible.  We would love to have you join us for chapel at 10am that day.  Each child will also be bringing home a small part that you will need to practice with them all this week.  I can't wait to see them perform next week!  Bring your cameras!😀

Parents check your child's OWL folders, this week's homework is inside.  Remember to return it no later than Friday.  Included is a Letter Fluency Sheet.  Practice each day for one minute and record their score on the sheet. The goal is 62.

Tuesday, March 8th is our field trip to the Children's  Museum from 9:30-2:30pm.  Look for a permission slip which will be coming out soon.  As always, parent helpers are always wanted!!  Let us know if you can join us that day.

Thanks for all you do parents!  I hope you had a fantastic Winter Break with your child.

Blessings,

Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Lee

Happy Friday awesome Kinder parents! This week I have been feeling abundantly blessed. Our class is an amazing, sweet, caring class, In our prayer time everyday the students are praying for you and their friends, we learned about repentance this week and it was warming to see them apologizing for things they had done and felt bad about, it is encouraging to see them sticking up for their friends, and uplifting to hear them encouraging each other or breaking out in song during working time. Thank you for letting me teach your children every day.

Important note-

-Next week is our 100th day and Valentines party! If you would like to volunteer or provide some snacks let us know! Look out for info on our 100th day family project. Note can be found below or attached to our homework packet!
