Classroom Management

Mrs. Lee’s Classroom management

The children are required to follow the classroom rules
1. I will follow directions quickly.
2. I will raise my hand to speak.
3. I will raise my hand to leave my seat
4. I will make smart choices.
5. I will treat others the way I would like to be treated.

Behavior Chart
In our class we use a clip chart to monitor our behavior. Each child will have a clothes pin with an assigned number on it. Every child will begin the day in the middle, green ready to learn. Students may be asked to move their clip up or down depending on their choices. Here is an ex,ample of the chart, and what each space means.

Score Board

Another way we monitor our behavior in class is through our score board. On one side of the board is a smiley face and on the other side is a frowny face. When the class as a whole is following rules, listening to directions, and being awesome learners they get a tally mark on the smiley face side. When they are not doing these things they get a tally on the frowny side. This is a fun classroom management technique, when students get a smiley we say “Oh Yeah!”, when we get a frowny we say “Oh no…”. If students get enough smiley faces, they earn a prize as a class like free recess, free-choice time, or even a pizza party!
